anythingoesDiego is a young Latin American man of Mexican descent with a somewhat dark olive skin tone that can appear darker or lighter depending on surrounding illumination. He stands at 178cm (5'10"), a slightly above-average height, but not as tall as some of the men in his cast. He has sharp facial features, brown eyes, light stubble on his jaws, chin, and upper lip, and dark eyebrows that slant upward towards the corner of his eyes. Diego wears his dark brown hair in a type of faux hawk hairstyle, with the sides and top swept backwards over his head and his surprisingly-long bangs standing up over his forehead like a spiked flame or feathers. His hair is rather rich and shines with a muted luster despite his time in the streets, though he does have a few flyaway spikes out the sides and back despite his styling.
Diego is notably muscular, having a buff, street-hardened build with highly-defined biceps and arms, sculpted pectorals on his broad chest, carved abdominal six-pack over his stomach, a rippling back with symmetrical muscles framing his spine, and visibly-powerful thighs and legs. Unlike many of the men in his cast, however, Diego’s rough-and-tough life has left him with several large scars on his body and his face. Most appear to be slash wounds left by bladed weapons, with the most noticeable being a long slash over his right pectoral, a lengthy cut near his shoulder blade, and a trio of large scars covering the lower half of his left pectoral, suggesting past attacks on his heart.
Others on his face include a slash across the bridge of his nose, one under his right eye, and another trio of intersecting scars on his forehead and right eyebrow, again suggesting multiple attacks on his eye. He even sports a few scars on his shoulders, arms, and legs, including a long cut running from his shoulder to his bicep, horizontal slashes on his thigh, cuts on his forearms, and an X-shaped scar on his knee. How he got these scars is unclear, but speculations include unscrupulous people bringing knives to fistfights, attacks on his person out of revenge for previous defeats, and general crime in New York like muggings, assaults, or hit-and-runs.
Unsurprisingly, Diego prefers wearing "street clothes" when he’s out and about. His default outfit is a pair of worn and ripped blue jeans with a wide-necked, low-cut yellow tank top worn under an unzipped red leather jacket. He completes his look with white hand wraps forming fingerless "gloves" and "wristbands" and a pair of sturdy black and green sneakers. He accessorizes with two silver earrings just above his right earlobe, a metal cord necklace with a sharp tooth pendant, a black leather belt with a silver buckle, and a pocket chain with a colored accessory on the right side of his jeans that attaches the corner of his pocket to his front belt loop.
Style wise, Diego tends to stick with reds, yellows, blues, greens, browns, blacks, whites, and greys. His tank tops, though sometimes blank, often have aggressive designs on them, such as paint splatters or jagged streaks, and provocative words such as "GOT GUTS?" strewn across the middle. Keeping with his rough nature, Diego tends to roll up the sleeves of his jacket to his elbows, wear his tops half-tucked on one side, and rides his jeans low on his hips. Additionally, he has no problem going barefoot, barehanded, and bare chested, even during a fight if it comes down to it.
Like other characters in Dead or Alive, Diego sports several different costumes as the game continues releasing new sets. His first new costume is the "Deluxe" set, consisting Diego going bare chested and wearing yellow boxing shorts with black and white stripes on the sides, black and yellow fingerless MMA gloves, and yellow and white boxing boots with black soles and laces, which is currently his most revealing costume in the series. His second new costume is the "Wedding" set, consisting of formal wear. His third new costume is currently unknown.
